Our History

The Georgia County Collaborative Authority for Families and Children was created under the authority of Act 677, adopted March 27, 1998 and amended May 1, 2002 by the General Assembly of the State of Georgia.

Designated as the local decision making body for prioritizing the needs of families and children, the Cochran/Bleckley Family Connection Community Collaborative brings community partners together to develop, implement, and evaluate plans that address the serious challenges facing children and families here in Cochran and Bleckley County.

Our local collaborative was formed in 1998 with a small group of dedicated individuals and has continued to grow over the years.  In 2005 our local Family Connection Collaborative merged with the local Communities In Schools affiliate.  Since 2005, we have been awarded numerous local, state and federal grants to expand the services we offer to reach our goals of healthy children and families, school readiness, school success, stable and self-sufficient families, and ultimately a stronger community.

Our we move forward into the future, we would love to have your support.
